What is paperless payroll? Paperless payroll, or electronic payroll, means eliminating paperwork in every possible phase of the payroll process. This in turn reduces overall costs and delivers a faster, more convenient and reliable service to your employees. How does it work? The process of setting up paperless payroll is the same as setting up any other payroll. It requires no special system and no special hardware or software from the employer. You simply call in, fax or email your employees' hours to us, and we take care of the rest! Instead of printing a paper paycheck, we simply deposit the net earnings directly onto the employee's paycard. We can issue pay stubs electronically through email, or print them on paper, or both. For employees who prefer direct deposit, we will still continue to offer that service. What are paycards? Payroll cards, or paycards, are a cost-effective, practical way to put pay in an employee’s wallet without the expense of printing and mailing a physical paycheck. The paycard is plastic and looks like a credit card. But there’s no line of credit involved, and no need for the employee to set up a bank account. Each payday it gives the employee prompt access to net wages. The cards work in ATM machines and have a Visa or MasterCard logo that work just like branded debit or credit cards. How do they work? Paycards offer ATM withdrawals and Point-of-Sale purchases (where a merchant has a PIN pad at the checkout counter.) You simply swipe your card and enter your PIN number to complete your transaction. Some cards also offer the ability to get cash back along with your purchase – a common option that you’ve seen at most grocery stores. Cards that are branded with a Visa or MasterCard logo allow you to sign for purchases anywhere Visa and MasterCard are accepted. The dollar amount of the purchase is authorized and the transaction is completed as soon as you sign the receipt. There is no worry about temporary authorizations or "check bouncing." You may also use your paycard to make internet purchases, transfer money, or to pay bills. Keep it for as long as you work for your employer. Each pay period your balance is increased by the amount of your net pay. |
